ALL ABOUT EVE
Bio
I am a proud Wiradjuri/Irish/Scottish/Spanish mother of 4 children. My mother is a descendant -Dolly Gladis Parker of Parkes and my father-Edward Lee from Dubbo, both regional NSW Wiradjuri people.
Eve is a professional dancer, yoga teacher, personal trainer and Integrative health practitioner passionate in holding space for people to heal.
My belief is that we can bring about deep healing through connecting people back to their culture and back to country. Connecting with culture on country with elders through ceremony, art, dance, and bush medicine has helped me in so many ways, I want to share this with others. I have been lucky enough to pass on some of this knowledge to schools and companies around Australia through my four years as a Senior Educator with Wandana Aboriginal Events and Education.
As Senior Educator, I managed the expectations of multiple high-level stakeholders within the Education system. Collaborating to program student sessions between existing curriculums, and working with changing teams each time we entered a new school was challenging and rewarding. This experience would transfer into a position where teamwork and collaboration is key. As an endorsed NESA educator I created and facilitated for pre-school, primary school and high school teachers Aboriginal cultural programs to aid their compulsory Indigenous education.
In 2019 Eve was asked by Yoga Australia to join the Reciprocity Action Plan (RAP) Group and is now bringing Indigenous conversations and cultural awareness into Yoga spaces. Eve is a director of Ngungwulah Aboriginal Corporation, creating cultural awareness units for yoga teacher training within Australia and to create scholarships for training Aboriginal people in Yoga.
In 2015 Eve created MermaidFit an aqua fitness class incorporating, yoga ,chi-gong, dance and mermaiding. Teaching at birthday parties and regular classes in the summer in ocean pools.
In 2022 Eve and her husband Steve Spacek created s e s a s a sun and moon imbued skin products organic and locally sourced incorporating indigenous plants, Food for the skin to moisturise and protect from all the chemicals and toxins of the modern day world.
I am not the one in five Australians who suffer from mental illness each year. In an effort to empathise and understand those who suffer from poor mental health, I have been an ambassador for One Wave for 6 years, volunteering my time by sitting in circle, listening to others share their mental health journey and then teaching Yoga.
I am proud of the work I do daily, connecting yoga and culture to bring healing to all people. My personal mission is to extend this healing and awareness all over Australia. I have been a teacher for many years but I am always a student of life.
If one person is suffering then we all are. If our land, water or sky is sick then we all are. I want to heal and be healed through culture and connection.
A conversation can change a life! To inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling with life.
